Back in August we went to a “secret” Black Eyed Peas show at The Independent, a great small venue on Divisadero. Tickets were a little steep at $40 but the night ended up being amazing, despite waiting forever for the Peas to go on. It ended oddly though with lead singer, Will.I.Am, riffing on how the tickets should have been free and getting the crowd to sing “getcha money back” over and over again. I’m sure the staff was thrilled.
We had completely forgotten about it until tonight when Kate noticed a strange refund on our Visa statement. Amazingly, the cost of our four tickets (minus the surcharge) was refunded just a few days after the show. Given that there were two other acts on the bill I’m guessing the Black Eyed Peas picked up the tab. Very very cool.
